SAC ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS


Congratulations to these outstanding Ohio State students who exuberate the Student-Alumni Council’s core values: service to the university, Buckeye spirit and tradition, leadership, educational excellence and involvement within the OSU community. 
 

RACHEL FISHER Rachel Fisher

Rachel Fisher is currently a psychology major at Ohio State, with minors in professional writing and sexuality studies. She is presently vice president of the OSU Triathlon Club, she is preparing to run her fourth full-length marathon and her first half-Ironman this summer, and she is a past member of the OSU Equestrian Team. She has a strong interest in applied psychology and has been a research assistant for a social psychology lab on campus for more than a year now. In addition, she is an HIV test counselor at the Student Wellness Center. She loves writing, running, and hunt-seat horseback riding.



 KATIE WHIPKEY
Katie Whipkey
Katie Whipkey is a third-year honors student majoring in ssychology and minoring in Spanish and dance from Mineral Ridge, Ohio. She is an active member of Ohio Staters, Inc., serving as the traditions chair, treasurer, and Financial Advisory Committee and Finance Committee chair as well as a project co-chair for Buckeye Biographies and Winter Banquet 2007. She is currently  president for 2008 - 2009. She was a recipient of the Beanie Drake Student Leadership Scholarship last year and is currently the public relations chair for the board of directors for the scholarship this year. Katie works in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and First Year Experience as a telecounselor and in the Ohio Union as a development intern. She will continue to promote the welfare and traditions of The Ohio State University next year through her role in Ohio Staters, continued involvement in the Beanie Drake Scholarship and the Union, and taking on the role of captain of the telecounseling team.



JUSTIN RISMILLER
Justin Rismiller
Justin Rismiller is a first-year student at Ohio State majoring in agribusiness and applied economics. Justin attended high school at Versailles, located in western Ohio. Since arriving at Ohio State in autumn quarter of 2007, Justin has become very involved in and outside of the classroom. He is a member of the Agribusiness Club, CFAES College Ambassador team, Alpha Zeta Partners, Buckeye Leadership Society, and Saddle and Sirloin. After graduating from Ohio State, Justin plans to attend law school and further his education. Justin also enjoys attending sporting events, hunting, fishing, football, and hanging out with his friends. He would like to thank everyone involved with the Student-Alumni Council for their support and their enduring passion for The Ohio State University.



KYLE BRUGGEMAN
Kyle Bruggeman
Kyle Bruggeman is a first-year mechanical engineering major from Centerville, Ohio. He is enjoying his time at Ohio State thus far and has been involved with Ohio Staters Inc., Leadership Ohio State, Lincoln Hall Council, Leadership Collaborative 2007, and was an Ohio State welcome leader. Kyle’s greatest accomplishment is serving as captain during his senior year for the Centerville High School Science Olympiad team that placed second at the national competition.
