COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Student-Alumni Council (SAC) has reached out this summer to all parts of the world. Current members of SAC have spread throughout the state of Ohio, across the nation, and into the global community.
Several SAC members have remained on campus continuing to take classes, working or conducting research at Ohio State. Amanda Graver, Ohio State Undergraduate Student Government Vice President, is planning for the year ahead. Laura Rizzo and Brent Ribble, as well as a few other members of SAC, are helping new Buckeyes prepare for their first year as Orientation Leaders. Danny Tran is taking a class and telecounseling. Chelsea Bostancic is also taking a class while babysitting. Darci Mossberger is working on campus. Not only is David MacLean taking classes full-time, but he is also interning with Sherwin-Williams.
Laurel Horn, who is also interning with Dave Fox Remodeling, and Nidhi Lahoti are representing SAC on campus as University Ambassadors this summer. Nidhi Lahoti and Arianna Williams are staying close to the Alumni Association and working at the Longaberger Alumni House. Lona Sharma is conducting cancer research at Ohio State and running her own photography company called PhotosOutLoud.com. Tom Hammer is interning with Mike Dunn and the Rec Sports Department at Ohio State.
Throughout the state of Ohio, Anita Robison is interning with Kohl’s Department Store in New Albany. Erin Orndorff in interning with the Columbus Council of World Affairs. In Cleveland, Alyssa Singer is interning with Cleveland Jewish Community Federation. Close by, Devin Graham is with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Nicki Menon has a research internship in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. In Coshocton, Ohio, Katie Zatroch is interning at the Animal Medical and Surgical Center. Shannon Smith is in Springfield, Ohio, interning with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. St. Clairsville, Ohio is the home to Casey Cross this summer as she interns with State Senator Jason Wilson.
Stephanie Stelmaschuk is working at the Cleveland Clinic as a Patient Care Assistant. Jillian Zientek is volunteering at the Blood Bank, as well as shadowing in the Food Animal Department at Ohio State. In Findlay, Ohio, Kaleb Kohler is a nurse’s assistant. Tom Vetter is working at Morris, Smith, & Feyh in Columbus. Clayton LeHotan is working on Gibraltar Island at OSU’s Office of Student Life Franz Theodore Stone Laboratory. In Celina, Ohio, Chris Johnson is working on a farm.
Across the nation, Matt Starr is in New York City interning with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. In Michigan, Kelly Mirgon is interning at Ford Motor Company. Las Vegas, Nevada, is home to Pete Steele this summer while he interns at Eaton Corporation. Jordan Davis and Branden Albaugh are both spending time in Washington DC as part of LeadAmerica.
Abroad this summer, Scott Fry is interning at the United Nation’s World Food Programme in Rome, Italy. In Toledo, Spain, Jeff Gannon is studying abroad. Dan McCarthy is studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland. Rob Bonacci is in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for a semester. Dijon, France, is home to Maryann Augustine this summer. Alyssa Bernhofer is studying abroad in Quito, Ecuador and is blogging about it at www.alyssainecuador.weebly.com.
Devin Graham is visiting the Dominican Republic this summer. Fahad Alharbi is making a trip to Saudi Arabia in August and Barbara Barash is traveling to Costa Rica to volunteer at a medical clinic.
No matter where they spend their summers, SAC members are being extremely productive and spreading Ohio State spirit globally.
The Student-Alumni Council is a student advancement organization dedicated to serving Ohio State students past, present, and future through the support and coordination of university and The Ohio State University Alumni Association, Inc. events. A member of the Association for Student Advancement Programs (ASAP) and its parent organization, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), SAC strives to advance The Ohio State University through programs which enhance the student experience, promote student-alumni interaction and establish a spirit of loyalty to the university.
