SAC BANQUET HIGHLIGHTS DISTINGUISHED YEAR

COLUMBUS,Ohio - The Ohio State University Student-Alumni Council (SAC) celebrated the many accomplishments of the 2006-2007 school year on May 12 at the Blackwell Hotel and ConferenceCenter.

The annual Student-Alumni Council Banquet recognized the outstanding leaders of SAC for their involvement at OhioState. This banquet began at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres followed by a dinner, slideshow, and jazz quartet in the main hall. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the New Member of the Year Award, Outstanding Program Coordinator Award, Outstanding Director, Outstanding SACer of the Year Award, and the Michelle Ann Cassis Award.  The SACer of the Year Award is given to recognize one outstanding member of the Student-Alumni Council chosen on the basis of exceptional service beyond the responsibilities which they accepted by becoming a member. The Michelle Ann Cassis Award honors and recognizes Michelle Ann Cassis’ exemplary career at The Ohio State University and the many contributions of time and talent she so willingly gave to the University. Michelle Ann Cassis provided an outstanding example of high scholastic achievement and personal commitment to school activities for all students.  The Michelle Ann Cassis Award is given to a member of the Student-Alumni Council who has excelled in school activities, scholarship, and community involvement.  The winners of this year’s Student-Alumni Council Awards are as follows:

 

New Member of the Year: Courtney Banks

Program Coordinator of the Year: Holly Coats

Director of the Year: Matt Van Jura

Outstanding SACer of the Year: Matt Van Jura

Michelle Ann Cassis Award: Ellen Regennitter

 

SAC commends these individuals on their service and commitment to the betterment of the OhioStateUniversity community through their involvement with the Student-Alumni Council.

In addition to these awards, the 2006-2007 Student-Alumni Council Executive Board was honored before the newly elected 2007-2007 Officers were installed. Those honored included President Ellen Regennitter, Vice President of Communications Danielle Auker, Vice President of Outreach and Engagement Valerie Eifert, Vice President of Membership Mike Starr, Vice President of Finance Paul Barash, and Executive Assistant Alisha Park.


The Student-Alumni Council is a student advancement organization dedicated to serving Ohio State students past, present, and future through the support and coordination of university and the Ohio State University Alumni Association events.  A member of the Association for Student Advancement Programs (ASAP) and its parent organization, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), SAC strives to advance The Ohio State University through programs which enhance the student experience, promote student-alumni interaction and establish a spirit of loyalty to the university.
