COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Student-Alumni Council (SAC) is pleased to announce the success of May Week 2007 and thank the OhioState student body for helping to make the entire week of celebration a wonderful achievement.  May Week was held all over OhioState’s campus this year from May 4-12.  SAC members worked in many capacities to present May Week, such as serving on the May Week Steering Committee and as volunteers at May Week events.  Countless student organizations, businesses and university departments including the Ohio State University Alumni Association (OSUAA), Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and the Ohio Union Activities Board (OUAB) also helped produce the over 200 events that make up the May Week celebration.

One of the events in which SAC was heavily involved was the Buckeye Breakfast held on May 7.  SAC members were delighted to spread the May Week cheer by placing tables in various locations around campus and passing out free breakfast to students.  SAC was also proud to be a part of the Official Ring of Ohio State Presentation Ceremony held in the Hitchcock Hall auditorium.  The Class Ring Ceremony is a new tradition at OhioState where students and alumni who have ordered a ring during the previous year are presented with their Class Rings by OSUAA President Archie Griffin.  This year several hundred class rings were presented.  One of the closing events of May Week this year was the May Week Picnic on the South Oval.  SAC members, together with a few hundred students, gathered to enjoy a picnic of hot dogs and salad as well as a special ice cream dessert provided by a local radio station.

May Week is a celebration of the Ohio State University community presented by the Ohio State University Alumni Association and its Student-Alumni Council.  May Week celebrates the end of another school year, the onset of spring, and the OhioState campus community. By incorporating a multitude of student organizations, university departments, community businesses and corporations, this week-long celebration provides a variety of entertainment for the students, faculty, staff and the Columbus community.

The Student-Alumni Council (SAC) is a student advancement organization dedicated to serving Ohio State students past, present, and future through the support and coordination of university and The Ohio State University Alumni Association, Inc. events.  A member of the Association for Student Advancement Programs (ASAP) and its parent organization, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), SAC strives to advance The Ohio State University through programs which enhance the student experience, promote student-alumni interaction and establish a spirit of loyalty to the university.
