COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State University Student-Alumni Council (SAC) proudly announces this year’s new honorary members, Nadine Holmes and Carmen Alvarez-Breckenridge.

Ms. Holmes is a two-time graduate of The Ohio State University with a BS in Education and a MA in Education with a focus in Clinical Counseling. She is in her 10th year with The Ohio State University Alumni Association and is currently the Director of Student Recruitment. She is responsible for training and motivating volunteers in support of Ohio State. In addition, she is The Ohio State University Alumni Association’s liaison to the Office of Admissions and works closely to recruit the best and brightest students to Ohio State. She also is The Ohio State University Alumni Association’s liaison to the Ohio State’s Diversity Council where she works with the administration to promote and support diversity initiatives that affect students and alumni alike. Ms. Holmes is dedicated in every facet to the betterment of Ohio State and the Alumni Association.

Ms. Alvarez-Breckenridge is currently the Coordinator for Hispanic Student Services at the Multicultural Center. She is in her 29th year at Ohio State, with 27 years serving the Hispanic Student Services (HSS).  Ms. Alvarez-Breckenridge’s dedication to the university is unprecedented; she has a long history of developing, implementing and evaluating programs to meet the needs of Latina and Latin students. In addition to her ardor serving the Hispanic Student Services, she has served as member of Ohio State’s Alpha Psi Lambda Latin co-ed fraternity since 1988. In 1997, she was recognized by the University-Wide Council of Hispanic Organizations (UCHO) for her outstanding service to the Hispanic community at OSU. Ms. Alvarez-Breckenridge is also the founding member of the “Commission on Spanish and Latin Affairs of the State of Ohio”, serving from 1984-1998 as elected chairwoman. Ms. Alvarez-Breckenridge has had a dramatic impact not only on the Multicultural Center, but Ohio State alike with her dedication to the betterment of the university.


The Student-Alumni Council is a student advancement organization dedicated to serving Ohio State students past, present, and future through the support and coordination of university and The Ohio State University Alumni Association, Inc. events.  A member of the Association for Student Advancement Programs (ASAP) and its parent organization, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), SAC strives to advance The Ohio State University through programs which enhance the student experience, promote student-alumni interaction and establish a spirit of loyalty to the university.
