SAC Wishes Felix the Best

COLUMBUS,Ohio –The Ohio State University Student-Alumni Council (SAC) announces the stepping down of long-time advisor Felix Alonso. Felix has served the Student-Alumni Council as both a member and advisor, serving as advisor the past seven years. The Student Alumni Council family thanks Felix for all he has done for both SAC and its members. He has been a mentor and friend to all SACers and we all wish him well in his new role as associate director of the Multicultural Center.
Felix has worked very hard to create connections throughout the university community. Through his effort, the Alumni Association has gained more visibility on campus among students and university departments. As advisor of SAC, he helped to remold the mission, vision, and goals--helping SAC gain recognition at both Ohio State and nationally.
Felix’s passion for Ohio State, service, and higher education started his undergraduate years as a student at Ohio State. He was a member of Student Alumni Council, Homecoming Court, Undergraduate Student Government, and President of Delta Chi Fraternity. He continued with this passion, pursuing a master's degree in higher dducation and student affairs administration at the University of Vermont. Felix returned to Ohio State to become director of student programs, which allowed him to become involved with the Association for Student Advancement Programs (ASAP) and SAC, by coordinating all Alumni Association involvement university-wide student programming. At Ohio State, Felix has been a part of Homecoming Week, Welcome Week, May Week, Moonlight Madness, National Outreach Scholarship Conference Planning Committee, Heritage Festival, Greek Community Standards of Excellence, and Search Committee for the new vice president for Student Affairs to name a few. He has also been an active chapter advocate for both Beta Theta Pi and Delta Chi Fraternity and advisor for Chimes Junior Class Honorary. Through his service to Ohio State and the Alumni Association he has been awarded Honorary Member, Mirrors Sophomore Class Honorary, Advisor of the Year, University Leadership Awards, Advisor of the Year, Association of Student Advancement Programs (ASAP), John T. and Ruth Weimer Mount Award, Mortar Board and Sphinx Senior Honor Societies, Honorary Member, Chimes Junior Class Honorary, and Chapter Advocate of the Year, Greek Awards.
The Student-Alumni Council is a student advancement organization dedicated to serving Ohio State students past, present, and future through the support and coordination of university and The Ohio State University Alumni Association, Inc. events. A member of the Association for Student Advancement Programs (ASAP) and its parent organization, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), SAC strives to advance The Ohio State University through programs which enhance the student experience, promote student-alumni interaction and establish a spirit of loyalty to the university.
