WHY STUDENT ALUMNI COUNCIL?

We believe that as students we have a special relationship with our Alma Mater in all aspects of student life. Our loyalty and dedication to the university as undergraduates will positively affect the Ohio State community. This dedication will lead to appreciation and giving back to the university well past our undergraduate years, as active members in the Alumni Association.

Why did I join SAC?
I first discovered SAC in the fall of 2005 after hearing about it from a few people on campus. After checking out the SAC website, I knew this was an organization that was doing big things. I decided to apply, and was accepted in January, 2006. I initally joined SAC to get involved at OSU and to meet new people. I never could have imagined all the wonderful friends I would make or the fabulous opportunites I would encounter. Joining SAC was one of the best decisions I've made here at OSU.

What is your favorite SAC moment?
My favorite SAC moment thus far was in August of 2007 when we hosted the Association of Student Advancement Programs (ASAP) Network Convention. It was a national conference with over 500 student leaders from more than 100 institutions across the United States – and we planned the whole thing! It was a lot of fun to be a part of something so exciting. We heard great feedback from many students and advisers, so it was a very rewarding experience. I learned a lot about myself, about SAC, and about advancement. And I got to share in the experience with all of my fellow SACers, who are now some of my best friends.
